    • Marc and Pau Gasol become first brothers in NBA history to both win a ring

Marc Gasol has his long-awaited NBA championship ring, the prize that his brother Pau secured in 2009 and 2010 with the Los Angeles Lakers. In doing so, the Gasol brothers have become the first siblings in NBA history to both win a ring.

The Toronto Raptors, whom Marc was traded to from the Memphis Grizzlies just before the trade deadline, defeated the Golden State Warriors at Oracle on Thursday night as they won the NBA Finals 4-2, which further extends the legacy of the Gasol name.

On the 10th anniversary of Pau's first championship with the Lakers (June 14, 2009), Marc can celebrate in the knowledge that he has finally won a title of his own. The brothers will forever be in the NBA record books for achieving this feat, something that had not been done in the league's 73- year history. In total, 63 pairs of siblings have come into the NBA, but none have been able to match the achievement of the Gasol brothers.
