Opelousas – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Michael Reagan Gallagher on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Landry Catholic Church of Opelousas. Monsignor Russell Harrington will celebrate the Mass. Readers for the mass will be Ashley Bordelon M.D., Timothy Trahan and Amelie Hollier. A Private Burial will be held at a later date in the St. Landry Cemetery.
Michael, age 31, a resident of Opelousas, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at his residence after a long battle with depression.
As a child Michael served as an ambassador for the March of Dimes. He enjoyed playing sports throughout his years in school. As an adult he enjoyed hunting and spending time with his friends. He will be remembered for his kind heart and his generous spirit always wanting to help others. Michael had a great love for animals, and he showed it through his need to help by rescuing dogs. He cherished spending time with his family the most, especially his nephews Blaise and Isiah Glasscock. Michael will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his mother, Diane Doucet Gallagher; sisters, Elizabeth “Betsy” Gallagher D.V.M. and Kathleen “Katie” Gallagher Glasscock (Seth)
